John Natiw is a Michigan based singer/songwriter. His songs express the warmth of universal human experiences in a fresh and memorable way. Powerful, earthy vocals, original folk songwriting and an easy-going presence on stage make for a rewarding musical experience.
Known for his poetic, yet gritty lyrics, percussive guitar style and easy stage presence, his songs confront a variety of topics ranging from fatherly wisdom to thinkin’ about Nothin’ All Day, the sensitive subject of teen “cutting” to reconciliation of estranged loved ones, world peace to peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Audiences leave his shows entertained and uplifted, thoughtful and hopeful.
Playing as a solo artist, or with various accompanying musicians, John is poised to reach out with his musical influence beyond the Michigan area with the upcoming release of his first CD.
John is most at home while either writing original material or performing his unique brand of music for audiences small or large. “People that come to my shows are there for a reason”, John explains. “That reason is not me, but the music that somehow touches audience and performer alike and takes us, if only for a few hours, on a trip through the reality and fantasy of this life.”
So we’ll go… together
Through the deep valleys
Across walls of canyons
That stand in our way
Yes we’ll go… together
Looking for Eden
In spite of the demons
That lead us astray
